BMW has officially renewed Shell's status as the only recommended supplier for aftermarket engine oils in South Africa. This extends the brand's position for a further three years until the end of 2022, and applies to all BMW group brands including the "i" and "M" divisions, Mini, Motorrad and Rolls-Royce motor cars.
The three-year extension will mean that premium BMW engine oils, manufactured by Shell, will continue to be available to customers through BMW’s dealer network in South Africa. Furthermore, the collaboration means that Shell will continue to produce and supply’s BMW’s branded engine oils, which meet the latest BMW engine specifications. According to Shell these oils will feature their "PurePlus" technology, which is produced using a patented process in which natural gas is converted to base oil, also known as gas-to-liquid (GTL) technology.
“We are honoured to supply BMW with premium engine oils featuring our cutting-edge technology,” comments Patrick Carré, VP for Global Key Accounts at Shell Global Commercial. ”We look forward to further strengthen the collaboration as we move forward in our commercial and technical relationships.”
