The winner of the 2016 SAGMJ Car Of The Year has been named.

The competition winner was announced at a gala dinner at Emperor’s Palace, Gauteng last night, following votes by members of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ). Out of 12 finalists, the Volvo XC90 SUV took top honours, and was followed by the Ford Fusion in second place and the Mazda2 in third.

Categories voted in included interior design & practicality, exterior aesthetics, safety & technology, performance, handling & dynamics, efficiency, value for money and overall excellence.
