Ford Motor Company South Africa appoints Artie Jina Director of Parts Supply and Logistics

 

Artie Jina has been promoted to the position of Director of Parts Supply and Logistics at Ford Motor Company South Arica (FMCSA), with effect from 01 December 2022.  

 

Her previous role at Ford was Vehicle Logistics Manager. Jina joined FMCSA in 2012, in the Parts Supply and Logistics Division, where she was responsible for handling the export and import of Ford parts. She engaged with dealers both locally and globally and managed the local and global supply chains and logistics service providers. 

 

She later expanded her repertoire by taking on the role of Vehicle Logistics Manager. The first few months were a rollercoaster ride of learnings, since not everything goes to plan in a production environment. “I have always loved working in logistics, but at Ford I learned that the logistics environment means operating within organised chaos, being flexible and adaptable, and continuously disrupting yourself, your team and your service providers to get the best outcome you can for the business. I am excited to be taking the skills I have learned to the Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) as the Director of Parts Supply and Logistics,” says Artie.

 

For Artie, there is no set routine in logistics. “Change is the only constant and working with the complexities of this dynamic environment is mentally stimulating for me. I love learning and in logistics I learn new things every day. Logistics is also about relationship-building and growing and maintaining an extensive network of contacts in the logistics and supply chain world. I am also fortunate to work with people from around the world and learn about and experience different cultures and beliefs during my overseas travels.” 

 

Another role Artie has taken on and embraced is as the vice-chairperson of the naamsa | The Automotive Business Council Supply Chain Committee, responsible for investigating and delivering results against the various naamsa projects.
