Freightliner South Africa says that it has "thrown down the gauntlet to the commercial vehicle industry" - that is with the introduction of its "best in class 5 year / 800 000 kms warranty".
What this new warranty means is that, effective 1 January 2014, all owners of Argosy vehicles have a full engine warranty on Detroit Diesel and Cummins for 5 years or 800 000 kms* and a warranty on transmission, steer axles and drive axles for 3 years or 600 000 kms*
(*Standard Warranty conditions apply. Warranty valid for all vehicles registered from 1 Jan 2014)
Divisional Manager Godfrey Hani says: "With the introduction of this industry leading warranty offering, we are taking yet another giant stride in our mandate to consistently deliver to our customers the most competitive products on the market. This also serves to highlight the confidence that we have in the resilience and durability of the Freightliner brand".
The commercial vehicle brand also - together with FUSO - showed its commitment and dedication to supporting local skills development within the motoring and transport industry as two of the sponsors of the Edutrans Golf Day.
The companies sponsored eight learners for the Golf Day, six of which are from the SAGDB programme - the Gary Player School of Excellence - and were accompanied by two coaches who dedicate their time to helping these students.
The Freightliner and FUSO teams won 1st and 2nd place respectively.
Edutrans is an information career guide for school leavers that details the wide-ranging possible career paths in both the motoring and transport industry. The aim is to attract learners into the industry at a young age with a focus on developing and nurturing their skills and talents.
