Hino SA Will Pay For Your Hino's COF Exam

Hino South Africa has announced the launch of a new campaign that aims to attract extra servicing customers to its countrywide dealer network. The project is also expected to contribute "to road safety" that's by encouraging repairs required for a Hino to pass the annual Certificate of Fitness (C.O.F.) to be carried out at a franchised workshop.

The heavy duty automaker explains that the programme will run from this month to the end of November and will involve Hino SA paying the COF examination fee for all Hino trucks with a GVM over 3 500kg going for the test. (This does not include trailers). "This will be dependent on the customer taking the truck to a Hino dealer after the test so that the workshop can give a quote on the repairs required" the release adds.

Ernie Trautmann, Hino SA's VP says: "Hino South Africa is very aware of the large number of trucks on our roads that are unroadworthy, often due to repairs or regular maintenance being carried out at non-franchised workshops."

"This not only invalidates the warranty on the truck invalid if it is still in the warranty period and cancels the warranty on any  genuine parts  that have been fitted to the truck but can also result in a breakdown because the technician is not properly qualified to carry out the work to Hino's specification."
