AAAM invites you to attend the African Automotive Show which consists of the Auto Forum and Exhibition which will form part of the 2023 Intra-African Trade Fair, hosted by the government of Egypt and organised by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union and the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat.
The IATF2023 in Cairo runs from the 9-15 November whilst the Auto Forum takes place on the 12th and 13thNovember; the Automotive Show runs concurrently with the IATF2023. The AAAM hosted the first African Automotive Show in Durban at the IATF2021 which was well attended where we engaged on key automotive topics as well as the relevance of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement for the automotive industry.
The Auto Forum in Cairo will focus on the development of Value Chains, Alternative Powertrains, the AfCFTA, Auto Policy Implementation, Mineral Transformation and how to Drive Demand. The African Automotive Show will be attended by political and industry leaders from across Africa and abroad. 2023 is a year of step change for the African automotive industry – six hub assembly countries are either implementing automotive manufacturing policies or will approve and implement such policies i.e., Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Egypt, Algeria, and Kenya. Up to now its only Morocco and South Africa that have successfully and competitively industrialised their auto industries with production volumes of around 1m vehicles along with Tunisia competitively manufacturing components.
