New C-Class Fitted With Ferodo Ecofriction

Federal-Mogul Motorparts has announced that the new fifth generation model Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be fitted with Federal-Mogul’s award-winning range of zero-copper Ferodo Eco-Friction brake pads as standard equipment. The new C-Class was launched in South Africa in April 2015 and is the first to be fitted with such technology ahead of anticipated European legislation on copper content in brake pads.

According to Federal-Mogul Marketing Director Siya Khuzwayo, Mercedes-Benz is taking a proactive environmental lead in introducing Ferodo zero-copper brake pads to its new models. “The trust that Mercedes-Benz has placed in Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ Ferodo Eco-Friction technology is a compelling recognition of the challenging and dedicated research and development placed into this product. Ferodo Eco-Friction brake pads reduce emissions of copper and other particles in the environment, while providing better braking and a smoother, quieter performance."

The zero copper brake pad will not only be launched into the market as OE on the C-Class, but also for the aftermarket. Federal-Mogul Motorparts confirms that its unique range of Ferodo Eco-Friction brake pads have secured the globally-recognised company a gold trophy in the aftermarket and retrofitting category at the Equip Auto 2013 International Grands Prix for Automotive Innovation Awards, hosted in Paris.
