New Hilux GR Sport 2.8 GD-6 performance ball bearing upgrade from Turbo Direct in partnership with WR Off Road Industries - Increases power from 165kw to 261kw.
WR Off Road Industries has done it again with their partnership with the turbo experts Turbo Direct SA who together developed the new Stage 3 Performance upgrade for the new Toyota Hilux GR-Sport which has been completed successfully, they are excited now to share these interim and very impressive results!
Some competitors claim high tuning results with Stage 2 mods + mapping, but with the stock ball bearing rotating assembly. They claim a maximum result of only 190Kw, but with a very concerning excessively high and unreliable boost level, shortening the lifespan of the turbocharger.
With the WR Performance upgrade, we've been able to produce a safe and detuned final market released power of 261KW and 848Nm Torque at a much lower boost level then stage 2 tuning offerings on stock turbocharger setups. This results in ultimate reliability, lower thermal loads, and the highest efficiency turbocharger combination for the GD6 2.8 on the market today. The latest Transmission Cooler in place will manage the drive train temperatures, further securing reliable output even in the toughest environments.
This turbo is designed and built to achieve the 300kw output, but with necessary additional fuel system upgrades.
