The Aluminium Federation of South Africa (AFSA) will host an International Aluminium Conference and Exhibition from 16 – 18 March 2016 at the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town. The Conference is focussed on growing local aluminium demand to achieve a vision of doubling this within the next few years.
The programme for the event covers industrial policy (both local and in other countries), visions from captains of industry and the sustainable use of aluminium. Over the following two days, parallel sessions will be hosted which are specifically tailored to the automotive, foundry, fabrication and recycling sectors as well as strategic management. Bespoke sessions on the use of aluminium in packaging, as well as the use of aluminium in building and construction, will be presented. Most importantly, the industry’s growth strategy and sustainability will be considered. A number of global industry thought leaders are confirmed to address delegates, including experts from the International Aluminium Institute, the Aluminium Association (US), Aluminium Association of Canada, European Aluminium and ALFED (UK).
