MEDO (Meta Enterprise Development Organisation (Pty) Ltd) - an independent company that describes itself as assisting "larger organisations in obtaining their BBBEE goals and smaller businesses in realising their potential" - has announced the combination of two of its most prominent business-changing programmes, the International Trade Programme and the Supplier Development Programme into the International Trade Boot Camp to be held from 1 to 7 November 2015 in Cape Town.
This programme is geared towards any company that could, or does, service the automotive sector. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply and big business is encouraged to recommend their suppliers to apply for this programme as the combination of the International Trade and Supplier Development Programmes offers an unmissable opportunity to grow and expand upcoming South African businesses.
The event will be focused on relationship building, the scale of participating businesses, operations strategy development and management and presentation skills and MEDO says, "combines a series of in-depth workshops aimed at assisting smaller businesses in growing and developing". The boot camp brings together supply chain expertise, business development specialists and sessions on personal leadership. The culmination of the boot camp into two BIGPitch sessions sees participants demonstrating their readiness to take on trade on an international level by pitching their businesses to potential buyers, procurement officials and supply chain managers, both in the private and public sector.
A select number of candidates from the BIGPitch sessions, held in Cape Town on 5 November 2015 and in Johannesburg on 12 November 2015, will be chosen to visit the UK in the first quarter of 2016 on a business and trade delegation aimed at developing trade relations with UK-based businesses.
