Following the announcement that Top Gear Live will no longer be held in the city of Durban, the organisers have confirmed that the show will return to Johannesburg on the 12th - 14th June this year at the dome at Northgate.
Fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, Top Gear Live brings to life the massively popular BBC Entertainment TV programme, and promised highlights include stunts, "some of the world’s most incredible cars and the usual calamitous mucking about".
Johannesburg was the first city in which the live show was staged outside of the UK back in 2008 and to date, Top Gear Live events have now played to over 2 million fans in 25 countries. James Cooke-Priest, COO of Top Gear Live commented: “South Africa has always been one of our favourite destinations on the tour not least because they were the first fans outside of the UK to welcome our Top Gear Live show so enthusiastically. They return year after year to support us and remain some of the most enthusiastic not to mention the loudest fans we experience worldwide” he continued. “We’re delighted to be able to bring Top Gear Live back to the dome and have been overwhelmed by the support from previous partners, sponsors and ticket holders alike who have also welcomed the news”.
This year, the Top Gear Live event promises to thrill with an all-new format including special features, interactive experiences and a huge variety of brands showcasing their wares. Tickets will be on sale from 20th March.
