Vilaca Racing to be a showcase at Festival of Motoring

 

What began as a grassroots passion project is now a headline act at Africa’s premier motoring showcase. Vilaca Racing, South Africa’s fastest-growing time attack championship will feature live on-track, as a centrepiece attraction at the 2025 Kyalami Festival of Motoring. 

 

Emerging from local circuits and a deep love for motorsport, the Vilaca Racing Time Attack Championship has evolved into a national sensation, and its presence at the iconic Kyalami grand prix circuit marks a powerful moment in the series’ journey. Round 4 of the 2025 Championship promises to deliver unmatched excitement as motorsport racers go head-to-head against the clock in a display of speed, precision, and performance. As part of the Festival of Motoring’s adrenaline-charged lineup, this round will showcase some of the country’s fastest track cars in various categories.

Unlike traditional motorsport formats, Time Attack is all about racing the clock. It’s a pure test of driver skill and vehicle performance, where the fastest lap wins. With multiple car classes, covering everything from an ordinary vehicle to a fully turbo-charged race machine - there’s a place on the track for everyone.

 

Now in its 6th season, the Vilaca Racing Time Attack Championship has become a fast-growing motorsport movement, offering a legal, safe and controlled alternative to illegal street and drag racing. Spectators at Kyalami can expect a high-energy experience with roaring engines, fierce competition, and a festival vibe that brings together the best of motorsport culture, adding to the buzz of over 100 exhibitors and automotive showcases.
