The Volvo Group Southern Africa - the marketing and sales giant behind the Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks brands in the region - have announced their top performers for the past year. Aftermarket Dealer of the Year goes to Volvo Truck Centre Upington, and Sales Dealer of the Year goes to Volvo Truck Centre Bloemfontein.
Christian Coolsaet, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks SA comments: “The past 18 months have certainly been eventful for Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks, as we successfully launched new product line-ups for both brands during this period. Both brands experienced their best sales performance to date during 2014, so we are very excited about the future of Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks in the region.”
Coolsaet explains that the company’s focus is on supporting their customers every step of the way, providing them with quality service, advice and products that adds profit and value to their businesses over the long term. “That is the reason why when we determined our top dealers, we also took into consideration the dealers’ customer satisfaction scores, as our customers’ opinions are the ones that truly count.”
Both Volvo Truck Centre Bloemfontein and Upington grew their businesses exponentially during 2014 – a mean feat if one considers the relatively flat market growth of the local commercial vehicle industry last year.
According to Iain McCabe, GM Retail Development Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks SA, they have been working hard to ensure the continuous improvement of their dealer network. “As the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, we focus a lot of attention on aspects such as advanced training, the innovative use of technology, communication, financial and business guidance, as well the implementation of international best practices, in order to enhance our dealers’ service to our customers.”
The company adds that come the end of the end of this year, it will boast a dealer footprint of 26 in South Africa - up 100% in the last three years. It opened a new dealership in Harrismith in November 2014, and is in the process of completing a new multi-million Rand facility in Bloemfontein. “With the Volvo Group being on the cutting edge of innovation in the commercial vehicle industry, we are leading the way in supporting fleet owners in a modern and very practical way,” said Coolsaet. “These innovations include telematics gateways, interactive driver mobile applications and advanced fleet management systems.”
“Operating in the region for over 13 years, we believe that we are able to meet these unique requirements and offer local customers the best transport solutions available – ones that makes a tangible difference to their businesses in real time,” concludes Coolsaet.
